Souper Tang @ The Centrepoint – Hearty Broths and that Superb Beancurd Dish

Do you know that the Malaysian chain Tang Shifu – famous for its nourishing and heartwarming soups – is actually available in Singapore?

Right smack in the middle of the Orchard shopping district, Souper Tang is an upscale restaurant offering authentic herbal soup.

Souper Tang originates from a lineage of Chinese herbal specialists. These specialists have left behind a wealth of knowledge on the nourishing properties of natural soup ingredients.

We have always enjoyed comforting and home-brewed soups by our mothers. And this is what Souper Tang seeks and have successfully recreated.

While soups feature prominently on the menu, what really called out to us is the wide array of unique dishes.

Most noteworthy is the Home braised pork belly in rich dark sauce 茶花卤肉 ($18.90). This dish is an irresistible creation that is simply melt-in-the-mouth. It is also served with homemade spinach mantou (bun) and refreshing cucumber sticks coated with a crispy walnut, sesame and broad bean sauce.

As you relish the dishes here, every taste and every bite will trigger fond memories of growing up. Albeit a bit pricey, I believe it’s well worth the splurge.

You definitely should not miss their signature caramel/ginger bean curd!

After a scrumptious meal, be sure to try the restaurant’s own home brewed drinks, such as Souper Tang Plum Tea 汤师父酸梅茶 ($9.90 per jug).

You can also make reservations via Chope! Not only that, you can pre-purchase Chope Vouchers and get 10% off your bill.
