Hotel Review: OZO Wesley Hong Kong @ Wan Chai

The urge to wanderlust had me eyeing at some nearby destinations around the region. Finally decided on Hong Kong because I was craving noodles and local 茶餐厅 delicacies. For flights, we used Skyscanner and found an early morning flight on United Airlines (I know there was alot of flak on United Airlines during recent times, but well, it was the cheapest) for around $300.

Thinking of where to stay in Hong Kong around the Wan Chai district? My choice of accommodation this time round was OZO Wesley Hong Kong along Hennessy Road. OZO Wesley Hong Kong is owned by the ONYX Hospitality Group, which has a portfolio of many hotels around Asia.  The actual location of the OZO Wesley Hong Kong is between Wan Chai MTR and Admiralty MTR, approximately a 6-minute walk from both MTR stations.

The hotel can be easily located when you walk down the main road from the MTR station. The moment we reached OZO Wesley Hong Kong, we were greeted by their friendly staffs at the concierge who were really helpful with the check-in procedures. The check-in area was well decorated and is any traveler’s picturesque dream with art murals and fancy ceiling decoration. We were booked into OZO Wesley’s, The Dream Room, for around $200ish a night. You can book a room from at OZO Wesley Hong Kong main website, or any hotel booking sites like Agoda, Tripadvisor or Bookings.com.

The Dream Room is approximately 20sqm and you can choose to have either a King or Twin beds. The Twin beds were so spacious, and had the fluffiest pillows ever. We fell asleep within seconds every night because of how comfortable it was, keeping us real energised for our activities the next day.

One of the most important elements of a hotel room – the bathroom was spotless. You can find a handheld shower, hair dryer, and a rack with toiletries which will be refreshed daily.

A flat screen LCD TV is located in front of the beds where we spend the nights watching some Hong Kong serials after a day out. Besides the usual TV channels, the console was packed with gadgets like  an alarm and radio. OZO Wesley Hong Kong also provides the essential free wifi in all rooms and the speed was good enough to watch videos on YouTube.

Right beside the beds is a built-in wardrobe, and also a tea and coffee making facility. Beneath was a mini refrigerator and a personal safe to keep our important belongings. You get complementary drinking water every day too. Despite the size, the room was well stocked on every travelers’ essential.

Where the bay windows are, there was a small sitting area with a desk. The room looks out to a very photogenic view of the buildings in the Wan Chai district. Probably a good spot for every Instagrammer to take their hotel OOTD or just sit down the edge and watch the bustling city pass around you.
