Central Perk Cafe @ Central Mall – F.R.I.E.N.D.S Cafe Opens in Singapore

Well, it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year. But here’s a place that you can count on to just chill.

Central Perk Cafe has officially rooted in the itself in the of Central Mall at Clarke Quay and it guarantees to drown you in nostalgia. We visited this new theme cafe in the evening and were pleasantly surprised to see it filled with people of all ages.

You don’t need to be a fan of FRIENDS and get the Central Perk background to enjoy your time here. The super chill ambiance accompanied with good food is an enough reason to make you want to perch yourself in a corner of this cafe.

Here are some dishes we tried:


Baby back pork ribs. Tender and not fatty. This dish was everyone’s favourite. It was a simple yet comforting indulgence.


Next, we had the Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was delicious, a perfect balance of savoury and sweet, complimenting the smoke duck and toast so well that we wiped out this whole dish.  Also, I don’t know what sorcery is this, but the egg yolk remained flowy even after going through a pretty long photo taking sesasion.


Aglio Olio. It’s a classic dish with an extra dash of garlic topping to satisfy the Monica in you. I love the freshness of the seafood. Unfortunately,  the noodles came out a little too hard and flavorless. Well, that is not something that a little extra time boiling and seasoning can’t fix.

Finally, we ended our night we the balloon dessert. Hehee, this dessert left us giggling like little children. The outside of the balloon is made up of candy that kinda taste like cotton candy. It comes in 3 Flavours- blueberry, strawberry, and banana. It is then inflated with helium on a breadstick and served with yogurt ice cream in a pool of popping candy and cake pieces. It is certainly a sweet treat with a twist.

The food prices here are on the higher end and can be quite overpriced for some ordinary tasting dishes. However, it is really worth a try for the ambience and some unique dishes like the helium balloon dessert.
