Did you know, no. 1 Iekei Ramen Restaurant in Japan – Machida Shoten – has launched an outlet at Japan Food Town of Wisma Atria? Not only that, it has recently launched a refreshed menu offering many items catering exclusively to the Singaporean palate.
The storefront of Machida Shoten will draw you in with its comforting dining environment. As the poster also suggests, they are famous for their Thick, Rich & Bold Iekei Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen ($16).
The Iberico Pork Ribs ($14) was a crowd favourite that night! It was well-marinated with their sweet soya sauce and extremely tender, one can say these ribs will melt in your mouth. This is definitely a dish we would try again when we are back.
For the health conscious, Machida Shoten offers the Garden Salad ($9) which is as scrumptious as it looks. It also comes with two salad dressings that complements well with the salad and fried lotus roots pairing.
Another of my personal favourites is the Shrimp Fried Rice ($10), which is specially fried with homemade sambal paste to cater to the Singaporean tastebud. Topped with juicy shrimps and made with a total of TWELVE ingredients, you might enjoy this even more than the ramen.
Yet another dish to cater to the Singaporean palate, the Fried Shrimp Bun ($5) combines fried shrimps and flavourful egg mayo with our all-familiar chinese mantou. An interesting alternative to our usual sliders and kong ba pau.
Lastly, check out their Shrimp Gyozas ($9.80), which comprises an entire tiger prawn and shrimps wrapped in a tasty gyoza skin!
