Citrus By The Pool opened its second home at Sengkang Swimming Complex – Citrus Bistro. A perfect place to unwind and relax after a swim, they offer a wide variety of food, from light snacks to hearty Asian-inspired mains to desserts, guaranteed to fill up your stomach. Oh yes, it’s also Halal Certified and even overlooks the swimming pool if you’re at the right seat.

Craving for a hot and comforting bowl of curry? Indulge in a hot bowl of the branch-exclusive Penang-inspired Curry Chicken ($9.90) with either bread or rice on the side. Choose the bread as it soaks up the curry. Peel of a chunk and every bite tastes amazing.  What sets this bowl of thick curry apart from the rest is that it comes with 15 different spices! Perfect for those who have a preference for stronger flavours.

Though slightly on the pricey side, the Smoked Duck Breast ($19.90) has got to be my favourite dish here! The smoked duck breast, served on a generous serving of mashed potatoes with fresh seasonal vegetables and wild mushrooms on the side, topped with hoisin sauce was a perfect fusion of both Asian and Western flavours.

Looking for something easy to share when you’re feeling peckish? Try Citrus Bistro’s Beef Sliders with Nachos ($10.90). It comes with three beef sliders that are topped with tomatoes, lettuce and cheese. The beef patties were a little dry but the sauce helped to balance it a little. The buns saved the day as it tasted like a “mantou”.

If you’re looking for a something lighter on your palate, try the Catch of The Day ($14.90). What makes this dish different from other salmon mains is that the salmon’s steamed instead of pan-seared. Served on a bed of mashed potatoes and comes with seasonal vegetables and wild mushrooms, topped off with a cream sauce which helped to tie the entire dish together.

Try the Tom Yum Seafood Pasta ($10.80) if you’re craving for something tangy! This pasta dish comes with a fragrant and slightly tangy Tom Yum broth, and fresh clams, squids and prawns that were perfectly cooked. The broth had just the right balance of spices to satisfy any Thai-food lover.
